Humanitarian Benchmark Consulting (HBC)
is a small team of dedicated and experienced humanitarian experts working within a social enterprise company.
HBC aim to support humanitarian agencies to ensure a minimum standard in humanitarian work. The company head office is in Jakarta, with an operational team based out of Yogyakarta and Melbourne. HBC engage with a range of associate consultants across the South East Asia region.

Humanitarian Benchmark Consulting (HBC) is a small team of dedicated and experienced humanitarian experts working within a social enterprise.
HBC aim to support humanitarian agencies to ensure a minimum standard in humanitarian work.
HBC was formed by four consultants concerned about the capacity building needs that became apparent during the humanitarian response following the destructive Yogyakarta Earthquake in 2006.
HBC was formalised as a company in 2009 with two directors, Dave Hodgkin and Mark Deasey.
HBC continues to respond directly to disasters in the roles of coordination, expert advice, evaluation and training, as well as working in disaster preparedness and organisational development.
Our specialisations are project design, evaluation and shelter coordination. Building capacity of local communities is important in all our work.
However HBC has a wide capacity to:
- facilitate and evaluate change processes
- develop trainings on humanitarian work, especially in training of trainers, shelter and international development
- evaluate of humanitarian projects
- organize strategic planning
- develop manuals and guidelines
- undertake contingency planning
As a social enterprise, HBC carries out a wide range of Corporate Social Responsibility non-profit activities, including managing QuakeFund grants, supporting waste recycling initiatives and establishing RedR Indonesia as a new training hub for disaster response.

QUAKEFUND
QuakeFund is a small informal fund setup to bridge the gap between individuals and families wanting to help disaster affected areas. We work together with local NGOs and affected communities on small scale projects that address local needs.

IBAN (INDONESIA BAN ASBESTOS NETWORK)
IBAN raises awareness & advocate banning the use of asbestos in Indonesia. IBAN establish in 2010, as part of initiation from several organization who had concern in asbestos consumption and industry in Indonesia. IBAN, was formed by health and safety activists, environmental campaigners, trade unionists and representatives from non-governmental organizations.

REDR INDONESIA
RedR Indonesia is part of a federation of national accredited RedR organisations who share a common vision and mission. RedR Indonesia runs training courses, recruit relief workers and provide support to humanitarian organisations and professionals around the world. RedR Indonesia adheres to the following principles adopted by RedR International: objectivity, scope, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service and unity.

HUMANITARIAN BAMBOO
The Humanitarian Bamboo project aims to bridge the gap between the knowledge held by skilled bamboo artisans and builders and the immediate need for practical solutions for aid workers and affected communities in post-disaster responses.
